We designed this Ultimate Uganda safari for those who have more time to explore the pearl of Africa. On this safari you will explore Uganda’s savanna national parks; Murchison Falls the largest National Park found in the northern Uganda with big game viewing, private boat excursions on the Nile and a hike to bottom of the magnificent falls, a boat cruise on Kazinga channel is the highlight of this tour where. Here you will have a chance to spend up four hours with both mountain gorillas and chimpanzees compared to traditional trekking where you are only allowed to spend one hour with a mountain gorilla in Bwindi Forest and Chimpanzees in Kibale Forest.

Day 1: Arrival in Uganda, transfer to Hotel
Our Uganda tour begins in Entebbe, where you will meet, greet and be transferred to the hotel in Entebbe for dinner and overnight.

Day 2: Transfer to Murchison Falls National Park via Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary and hike top of falls.
Ganyana safari driver/ guide will pick you from the hotel very early in the morning then begin a drive to Murchison Falls Uganda’s largest and oldest national park, four of the big five animals can be spotted here – Lion, Buffalo, Elephant, Leopard and many other animals with a stopover at Nakasongola where you will have lunch then transfer to Ziwa Rhino sanctuary, an asylum to the Rhinos. Enjoy a glimpse of the white Rhino alongside some birding around the vicinity and later continue on the road to Murchison falls National Park.

Day 3: Early Morning game drive and Cruise to the “bottom of the falls”
After an early breakfast, set off for a morning game drive on the Northern Delta Nile with sightings of Lions, buffalos, waterbucks, Jackson’s hartebeest, Rothschild’s giraffe, oribi and baboons are some of the animals to expect.
At 11:00 am, you will embark on a three-hour boat cruise on the Nile, this boat ride offers an amazing view of the falls from the bottom angle. Hippos, crocodiles, antelopes, and aquatic birds can be seen along the shores of the river. Immediately after the boat Launch, you will go for an evening game drive and later head back to your accommodation for dinner and overnight.

Day 4: Full day game drives and Hike top of the falls
Have an early morning breakfast, and embark on game viewing which can be enjoyed while on a game drive in several designated game drive areas. The main areas are the Delta where there are great chances of seeing the Lions in wait for prey as they go to drink, the Buligi Peninsula and the southern sector famously known as the heart of Murchison falls. After game viewing, hike top of the falls trail which is about 45 minutes from the bottom of the falls. The trail is not so steep so it can be done by everyone. The top of the falls hike is some rejuvenating activity, it will help your joints stress out, and it will make your blood run thoroughly through all your veins.

Day 5: Transfer to Kibale Forest and Bigodi Nature Walk
After an early breakfast, you will begin your Gorillas and Savannah Safari as you are transferred west through tea plantations and rolling hills to reach fort Portal town where you will have an en-route lunch before proceeding to Kibale National Park. After checking into the hotel, you will embark on a guided nature walk through the dense papyrus at Magombe Swamp which is part of Bigodi Wetland Sanctuary situated on the edge of Kibale Forest National Park. On your nature walk, you have the chance to spot up to 138 bird species including the Great Blue Turaco, a variety of butterflies and perhaps the real draw card of this swamp; its seven species of monkeys including red colobus, grey-cheeked Mangabey, L’Hoest, vervet, black and white colobus, blue monkey and baboons.

Day 6: Chimpanzee Habituation Trekking
After an early breakfast you will be transferred to the Uganda Wildlife Authority park headquarters where you will be briefed before embarking on your trek of the exciting chimps in Kibale Forest the primate capital of the world. A limited number of people spend time with a team of trackers, researchers and the chimpanzees in their natural setting. The Habituation Experience uses a process that takes up to two years to habituate the chimpanzees to human presence and with your visit you become part of the experiment.

Day 7: Drive to Queen Elizabeth National Park
Rise up early in the morning, and transfer to Queen Elizabeth National Park Uganda’s most popular and accessible savannah reserve. The area has one of the highest biodiversity ratings of any game reserve in the world, including a total of 95 recorded mammal species and more than 610 species of birds. After checking in your accommodation, you will have a short relaxation and lunch later enjoy an evening game drive where you will enjoy many wildlife sightings.

Day 8: Lion Tracking, Game Drive and Cruise on Kazinga channel
Depart for a morning game drive in the Kasenyi Plains aiming to spot lions hunting in the morning. The Kasenyi plains are a prime location to track prides of lions, which hunt the game herds found here. Expect to spot elephants, buffalo, warthogs, bushbuck, waterbuck and vast herds of Uganda kobs as you be joined on this game drive by a guide from Uganda Wildlife Authority who is an expert in tracking the lions. After lunch, you will explore Kazinga Channel on a water safari as the river flows through the heart of the park and connects Lake Edward and Lake George. On your boat cruise, expect to spot elephants, buffalo, warthogs and waterbucks as they cool off along the river banks in the heat of the day.

Day 9: Transfer to Ishasha Sector – Ntungwe River
Transferring to the remote Ishasha Wilderness Camp in the idyllic Southern Ishasha sector of Queen Elizabeth National Park on the Ntungwe River. An exclusive camp with superb accommodations for people who enjoy the retreat of a true wilderness, Ishasha is also one of only two places in the world where you can see tree-climbing lions.

Day 10: Transfer to Bwindi Impenetrable Forest
You will exit Queen Elizabeth National Park through the Ishasha Plains in the southern sector of Queen Elizabeth National Park for another epic game drive. Ishasha is famous for its iconic tree-climbing lions that climb trees to catch the cool breezes. After your game drive, you will leave Queen Elizabeth National Park and head to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park Nkuringo sector.

Day 11: Gorilla Habituation
With an early breakfast and a packed lunch, you will be transferred to the Uganda Wildlife Authority park headquarters where you’ll be briefed on the gorilla tracking which begins at n8:00 am. You will then be guided into the jungle to track the shy primates. Gorilla Habituation is done in southern Bwindi Impenetrable Forest in the Rushaga section. Only four participants are allowed to join the habituation experiment every day. Visitors have a golden opportunity to spend four hours with the gorillas as they go about their daily life of feeding, playing, grooming and bonding.

Day 12: Transfer to Entebbe, visit Mabamba swamp & departure
With a sumptuous African breakfast, you will transfer from the lodge to the Kisoro airstrip for your aero link flight back to Entebbe. Meet with your driver guide and transfer to Mabamba Swamp on the shores of Lake Victoria. At Mabamba Swamp, you will set out on the water in a local canoe guided by an expert birder. You will explore the swamp in search of the infamous Shoebill Stork, the Grey Crowned Crane, Uganda’s National Bird, Saddle-billed Stork, African Fish Eagle and Malachite Kingfisher. Your guide will then drive you across town to Entebbe International Airport in time for you to check in and catch your outbound flight back home.
