Sunset cruises
At Ganyana safaris we offer, from Entebbe late afternoon cruises by boat out towards in the equator line to view the sun over the horizon. Watch fishermen casting their nets and enjoy snacks and drinks provided on the boat.
Meeting point is at waterfront beach in Entebbe where safe parking is available. Sunset cruise time is approximately one to two hours in the late afternoon from around 5:00pm.
Bird watching/ Mabamba papyrus swamp
The bird life around Lake Victoria and Mabamba bay wetland is spectacular – home to several pairs of the rare shoebill stork. Bird watching around the Lake is exciting for both keen ornithologists and beginners as there is such a wide variety of different birds to see.
Meeting point is at waterfront beach in Entebbe where safe parking is available. Journey times for Mabamba swamp are approximately 3-4 hours and are best conducted in the early morning or late afternoons when it is cooler.
Cheese and wine cruise
The perfect end to a safari or trip to Uganda, a sunset cruise on the lake accompanied by cheese platter and your choice of wine.
Meeting point is at waterfront beach in Entebbe where safe parking is available and departure from the pier a short walk away. Journey times for cheese and wine cruises are approximately two hours in the late afternoon at a time to suit
Bulago Island
Bulago island is one of the several scenic islands on Lake Victoria, located east of Entebbe international Airport. This is a perfect place to end your Ugandan safari.
Bulago, a ‘Luganda’ word to mean neck because of their neck-like formation, is the first island in Lake Victoria to be developed exclusively for leisure use. The Island has some of the excellent beaches owned by local and expatriate residents and professionals.
Enjoy and relax at the Island comprised of beautiful soft white sand, brilliant Lake side views, jogging, hiking trails and also a best place for bird watching as the island is home to 200 bird species.
Ngamba island chimpanzee sanctuary is home to 49 orphaned chimpanzees rescued from across East Africa. The sanctuary is located on Lake Victoria, 23 km southeast of Entebbe. Enjoy your visit as you participate in feeding and caring for the 49 chimps on Ngamba Island.
